Best Practices Analyzer built in.

I WAS WRONG IT WAS IN THE RTM OF R2 already there..

During the testing I did with Sp1, one of the things I ran into is the fact that the Best Practices Analyzer is built in to the service pack now:

Each role has its own BPA now built in to the server manager. after a scan this role, it will report the issues and best practices the machine is not compliant too, but also everything your machine is compliant to.

At this point I observed that the Best Practices are not compliant with RemoteFX and VDI yet, for the third remark: that Hyper-V should be the only role enabled on a system, is in contradiction with the adding of the role service RemoteFX. This Role service dictates that Hyper-V be enabled and thus violates this configuration item . luckily if this is the case in your setup, you can exclude the result from the noncompliant tab. (The machine is still noncompliant with the configuration best practice.). The only reason to exclude results would be to exclude rules that you find in contradiction to your setup on purpose, to see when things change whether your setup is still compliant with YOUR set of rules.

It is not strange that the RemoteFX role service  ( part of Remote Desktop Services) has no BPS results yet, for it is a new role service:

I think it it a good thing that Microsoft includes those BPAs into the server manager. A lot of people know the BPAs do exist, but when you have to download it every time you add a new role and you have to install it first and then run the test, it takes too much effort. now everything you need is under your fingertips.
