RDW Integrates Custom Software Delivery Process with Help from Info Support

Anyone who has ever been behind the wheel is familiar with the RDW. Being able to drive safely and securely is the goal. Well-functioning IT systems are crucial for vehicle registration. Info Support has been a partner of the RDW for many years and helps with the further development of its IT systems. Speed and agility are key.

Challenge

A new, ambitious way of developing software. Fast and agile.

Target Audience

RDW’s IT organization.

Result

A customized software delivery path, from a well-thought-out DevOps approach.

Acting faster

Digital developments are moving fast, and so are user expectations. The RDW must also be able to act faster and faster, and thus also respond quickly with software. The authority must be more agile, resolve faults more adequately and implement changes more quickly. This requires an adjustment in the IT environment.

Info Support is helping us tremendously to experience the DevOps evolution as a company. With their help, the work becomes a lot more efficient and effective. By the way, this is not only noticeable for the divisions of RDW, but also for the end user.

Further development of DevOps approach

Info Support advised the RDW on its IT environment. This resulted in a further development of the DevOps approach. The result? A modified software delivery path. From building on a machine in the development street, to building in a pipeline with collaboration platforms. Testing and releasing has become a continuous process.

Serving the business faster

The business is served faster. There is more transparency. And everyone has access to IT systems. The RDW now works through one backlog, which has a positive impact on collaboration between teams. “We now perform multiple updates per week, or even per day. And then completely silently. The rest of the organization – and the outside world – is no longer affected at all,” says Frank Driesens, senior software engineer at RDW. “It’s a development to be proud of.”
